Court Hearings

2003

     Patricia filed for Divorce in February of 2002. Between her filing and our Final Decree in December of 2004 we averaged a hearing a month. We spent time in Family Court, Domestic Violence, Civil, Bankruptcy and finally Criminal. The majority of hearings were recorded and are public record.

November 21, 2003

      This was the scarcest hearing-- period. It started out with Court Clinic dragging me before Judge Jewell after telling me in front of the children that I was going to jail for not cooperating.

     And for the first few minutes it looked that way. I do not know why Judge Jewell changed her mind, but we went from threatening me with jail to threatening Patricia with jail.

     The two great quotes are the Court Clinic therapist deciding I was right and that if they proceeded it would be like opening up a can of worms and spreading them all over. And my response to Judge Jewell telling me that I should file so Patricia would go to jail.   I told the judge that I did not want to tell the children their mother was in jail. Four months later......
