Court Hearings

2003

Patricia filed for Divorce in February of 2002. Between her filing and our Final Decree in December of 2004 we averaged a hearing a month. We spent time in Family Court, Domestic Violence, Civil, Bankruptcy and finally Criminal. The majority of hearings were recorded and are public record.

November 13, 2003

In November, Patricia almost got her hands on a "DoOver" card as all of the progress we made over the last several months unwrapped.

As ordered in September, I brought the children down to the Courthouse so Court Clinic could assess supervised visitation. The children were talking to their mother when the Judge entered and the scene melted the Judge's heart. Of course the children loved their mother and showed it but they loved their six year old brother also -- but they would not let him parent them. It was also clear that the Judge was confusing our case with another case, understandable considering her case load.

After the September hearing, Patricia began lobbying the children when supervisors and others let her. The children were very tense. My concerns were based on Patricia's ability to make a good first impression.

Court Clinic did not help either and everything fell apart as the Judge ordered out third psychological evaluation in a year.
