Court Hearings

2003

Patricia filed for Divorce in February of 2002. Between her filing and our Final Decree in December of 2004 we averaged a hearing a month. We spent time in Family Court, Domestic Violence, Civil, Bankruptcy and finally Criminal. The majority of hearings were recorded and are public record.

January 14, 2003

Patricia responded to State Protective Services removing the children from her care by filing another Domestic Violence Complaint against me, her third.

As David Letterman learned, Courts often issue Restraining Orders without attention to the facts. The immediate temporary restraining order the 'Court'  (actually a clerk with the Judge's signature stamp) awarded the children back to Patricia. I spent weeks ditching Sheriff deputies from delivering the order.

In reality I now believe the assertions by Patricia's attorney that she never intended to exercise that part of the order, she did not want the children back, she simply wanted to harass me.

The second part of this story is Patricia's refusal to cooperate with the property division and her selling the house in defiance of a Court Order. The only thing stupider then this was the six months it took for me to bring the house back into the community and almost losing the battle to do so.

My break-in to an empty house with a Court appointed office still annoyed her over a year later. This was the first incident of alleged abuse she raised during her questioning after her arrest.
