Court Hearings 2002 Patricia filed for Divorce in February of 2002. Between her filing and our Final Decree in December of 2004 we averaged a hearing a month. We spent time in Family Court, Domestic Violence, Civil, Bankruptcy and finally Criminal. The majority of hearings were recorded and are public record. February 14, 2002 Yes, our first hearing took place on Valentines Day, a Thursday. Patricia 's lawyer served the divorce papers on Monday, the 11th. At this time I did not know if we were actually getting a divorce and I hired my lawyer on the morning of the hearing. I did not go, my lawyer failed to explain to me that Divorce Court functioned like no other court and that anything could happen. At this time, I knew Patricia had taken $8,000 out of our personal account. I did not know that she took another $15,000 from the corporate account.
